In fact, since the Fourth falls on a Friday this year, it will be a true 'Fourth of July Weekend.' Here is a small sample of what's on tap in Texas for the Fourth of July.

Thursday, July 3

Granbury's July 4 Celebration begins Thursday and continues through Sunday. The event includes a car show, tractor pull, ranch rodeo, children's games, arts & crafts, parade and fireworks display.

Friday, July 4

The Austin Symphony Orchestra will be performing their annual Fourth of July Fireworks & Symphony at Auditorium Shores.

Buda's Red, White & Buda event showcases a variety of children's activities, craft booths, washer pitching contest, tug-of-war, parade, fireworks and entertainment.

Colorado City's July 4 Celebration will include water games, fireworks and a variety of other entertainment.

Dripping Springs' annual Fire in the Sky Fourth of July Celebration features music, children's activities, arts & crafts, and, of course, fireworks.

Houston's celebration, the Chevy Freedom Over Texas Fourth of July Celebration at Eleanor Tinsley Park features a fireworks display and live music from Sara Evans, Miranda Lambert and Jo Dee Messina. The fireworks display is being billed as the 'largest land-based fireworks show in the nation.'
