Annual Event Allows Readers To See Favorite Authors in Person

By Danno Wise, About.com

One of the state’s most popular events, the Texas Book Festival is set to take place once again this November. Held at the State Capitol in Austin, as it is every year, the 2007 Festival will be held Nov. 2-3.

The Festival will begin Thursday evening with a free event on the University of Texas campus featuring Robert Draper, editor of Literary Austin Don Graham, and other contributors to Literary Austin.

Featured authors this year include Monica Brown, Roz Chast, Hal Edward Runkel, David Talbot and Robert M. Utley. Dagoberto Gilb and Rolando Hinojosa-Smith are slated to receive the 2007 Bookend Award. Other authors scheduled to be at the festival include Kinky Friedman, Michael Fine, Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Steve LeVine, Julia Stone, and the editors of The Onion.

Anyone interested in literature should make plans to attend this year's event.
